Common Names
  • Ghost Moth

Ghost Moths appear and fly on only one or two nights each year, mostly in Autumn after rain, but also in lesser numbers in Spring*.

Although they live as larvae for years, boring their way through tree trunks, these moths only live as adults for a day. They cannot eat or drink and their sole purpose, as adults, is to propagate.
